ONE WORLD DRIVEN INTO MADNESS , madness driven by the depths below Lupin, Theodore R. TWENTY-SEVEN MALE HETEROSEXUAL TEDDY ADULT/GRADUATE GRYFFINDOR HALF-BLOOD ORDER AUROR 13 INCHES, CEDAR WITH HIPPOGRIFF TAILHAIR ONE LIE TELLS A THOUSAND STORIES , the greatest stories that were ever told APPEARANCE 5’11 156 lbs FAIR SKIN MOUSY-BROWN SHORT/MESSY BLUE EYES LEAN FRAME DEVIL-MAY-CARE The appearance you’ve read, the details included here, are all essentially what Teddy would look like if he actually walked around all-day every-day with the genes he was naturally given. However, his appearance sometimes changes on a day to day basis, due to the fact he inherited the rather interesting trait from his mother of being a Metamorphagus. As he’s grown older, one will realize that he changes his appearance less and less, and when he does, it’s not as drastic as a change. Describing his overall appearance is just that difficult, because he has so many looks that he’s partial to. But overall, more often than not these days, he tends to just show up to work as is. As far as style goes, Teddy’s pretty lax about what he throws on every morning and how he styles himself. That’s not to say that he doesn’t care about how he looks or that he doesn’t care about hygiene, because as a matter of fact one will notice he’s always clean-shaven and most of the time he smells like honeysuckle and baked goods - partially from the shampoo and the aftershave he’s so fond of and also because when he’s off-work he’s always cooking something or another (half the time for his own consumption, because who doesn’t love having cookies and milk to come home to after a long day at the office?). But other than that and the basic necessities, Teddy doesn’t do much else other than throw on a pair of jeans, a shirt, hastily through his Auror robes over it, and stroll right into work. He owns only a few suits and dresses up only if the occasion calls for it. ONE MAN CAN PREDICT THE FUTURE , a future journey into outer space PERSONALITY |
It’s interesting that these two would be paired together, given that one of Teddy’s greatest fears is that he’ll never accomplish his goal. A goal that many might argue is intangible and fruitless. More than anything in the world, Teddy just wants to make people proud. He wants to live up to his name, and live up to the legacy. But most of all, he wants to make his parents proud, which is why many might say he’ll never accomplish it - after all, you can’t get approval from the dead. And while Teddy fears this will never come to pass, he’s also terrified of death, if only because he doesn’t want to leave his loved ones behind.

How to describe Teddy Lupin? Well, a lot of people might classify him as all over the place, unusually cheerful, playful, loyal, brave… there’s a lot of ways one could go about describing him. Essentially, the best way to understand him is as a layered soul with different pieces that compile to make him who he is.
The first layer is, of course, the one that everyone sees. The cheerful, brave, and friendly bloke who waves to everyone in the Auror office as he comes in, who’ll joke and play around just to procrastinate on the boring old reports he has to fill out. To just about everyone, this is the guy he appears to be. The playful cousin, the pranking rookie (though, as he’ll proudly claim, he’s not as much of a rookie anymore), the smiling citizen. The guy who’ll bring in cookies after lunch simply because he stopped by his flat and figured everyone might appreciate a little something to brighten their days. It’s easy to see he’s a sweetheart to most people, who’ll stand up for what he believes in and does his best to be brave and protect his loved ones.
The second layer is a little deeper. This is the Teddy that people can get to know if they care to pay attention enough. It’s not that this part of him is something completely different from the first, but rather a part of him that might help explain why he does what he does, or why he does things in the way that he does them. For example, the fact that Teddy will sometimes bring in cookies for his coworkers is because he doesn’t want people to go through the days without something to make it a little better. He recognizes that life is precious - after all, Teddy was born in a time of death, and raised by someone who’d already lost so much. He treasures life and happiness above all other things, and he was taught from a very young age that everyone can afford a little kindness, or at least to bring some light to someone else. That genuine kindness, that clinging to life, is essentially what makes up the second layer.
Now the third is a dark one. Few, if any, have ever seen this side of Teddy, but to someone who knows him inside and out, it’s almost obvious that it’s there. In the way his expression might harden every once in a while, or how a temporary scowl might adorn his face but if you ask about it, he’ll refuse to say anything. It’s this part of him that gives him his flaws and his doubts, the darker part of him that’s constantly looking for approval, constantly looking to please people that either can’t be pleased or who aren’t even alive anymore. The part that practically makes him bloodthirsty towards those who might have taken his parents from him, who took his Grandda Ted away from his Gran. There’s a reason that Teddy wasn’t a Hufflepuff like his mother and grandfather were - there’s a part of him that’s too dark to have ever allowed him in the house of badgers.

HISTORY
Family
Mother -Nymphadora Tonks
Father -Remus Lupin
Grandmother/Guardian (“Gran”) - Andromeda Tonks
Godfather - Harry Potter
Extended Family - The Potters and Weasleys
The story of infant Theodore Lupin is a sad and rather desolate tale. He was conceived and born during the Second Wizarding War, the bloody and deadly conflict which ended up tearing his mother and father away from him. He was born to Remus and Nymphadora [nee Tonks] Lupin, on his grandmother’s couch, as a matter of fact, and was surrounded by love from the very second he was born. One of his deepest insecurities, however, is that Teddy doesn’t remember his parents at all, despite what everyone tells him about them, seeing as not even a month after his birth both his mother and father were slain at the Battle of Hogwarts, murdered by Death Eaters and leaving him an orphan under the care of the only person left to care for him - his maternal grandmother, Andromeda Tonks.
Much of his childhood could be characterized with affection and care, and when he was younger, he hardly even realized the situation he’d been born into. He thought everyone was raised by their grandmothers, sometimes being handed off to spend the day with his Uncle Harry and spending time with the Weasleys and essentially having a large network of people that he knew cared about him and loved him. It was only when he started to get older, and his uncle began having children of his own that Teddy started to realize that there was something different about his own situation. And, so, he immediately started delving deeper for answers. Many could say that his darker side, his deepest inner thoughts, started rather early in young Theodore Lupin, but the thing that always balanced it out was the affection and instruction he received from his grandmother and getting to spend time with his new cousins and, from an early age, spending time with a certain Victoire Weasley.
He spent a lot of his time as a young boy around books and playing around, so he often got into snooping through his grandmother’s books and reading, while also spending half his time romping around the yard or going off with Uncle Harry to play with him or play with Victoire whenever he had the chance. It probably couldn’t be stressed enough how much of an influence his grandmother had him, how much she meant to him, and how much he treasured getting to see children his own age, the only one really fitting the bill in that case being Toire. Plus, Teddy was constantly being told who his parents were, what they died for, that they were heroes. But, the one piece of information that always seemed to haunt him, was that some people were willing to tell him where they died. And so, when the time finally came, Teddy was both eager and scared to make his first trip to Hogwarts.
Theodore got sorted into Gryffindor when he first arrived, for his kindness and his loyalty but mostly for the courage that boiled just beneath the surface. While he made friends and did relatively well in classes, but during that first year not only was he homesick and missed Victoire, who’d become like his best friend in childhood, there was also something tugging at the very back of his eleven-year old mind. An issue that wasn’t truly resolved until the end of the year, when the night before the train took off to take him back home to his Gran, Teddy snuck out of his dormitory and sought out a specific place. Where did he go? To the very place where his mother and father had been murdered. And there he sat from nightfall to dawn, quiet and pensive and for the first time feeling connected to the parents he’d never known. He’d gone home later that day to a grandmother who was somewhat alarmed to see an utterly exhausted sleep-deprived Teddy.
Now, throughout Teddy’s life, being a Metamorphagus had a rather unique childhood. Up to this point, when it became pretty clear that constantly changing his appearance and misbehaving in that sense would send his Gran to an early grave, Teddy had become pretty good about sticking to one look, and never really went overboard with his appearance changes. But when he got to Hogwarts, that all changed. During his first year, though, he was always too determined to do well and be a good student to be concerned. During his second year, it was much like his first.
However, when Victoire finally got to Hogwarts, that started to change. Having his best childhood friend around had an intoxicating effect on the boy, and feeling emboldened by her presence, Teddy… well, for lack of a better term for it, started to show off. He’d show off magic in the halls, he’d help prank other students, but most of all, Teddy started messing with his abilities. He’d often show up to class, masquerading as someone else, sometimes just to mess with the professor and other times because a friend genuinely had to skive off and he wanted to help out. Needless to say, his Gran got a number of letters about his conduct that year, and by the end of it, Teddy’s Metamorphagus-transformations were banned within the walls of the castle.
Life went on at Hogwarts. He joined the Quidditch Team during his third year as well, becoming one of the best Beaters the Gryffindor Team had seen in ages (because naturally none could ever match the skill of his Uncle George and his late Uncle Fred). Plus, as the years went on, Teddy started to realize that his feelings for Toire were a little bit more than just platonic. As much as everyone teased the pair of them for being destined for each other, he’d never really put much stock in it until his seventh year, and Victoire’s fifth… and right after Christmas break, Teddy mustered up the courage to actually ask her out, as more than friends. To his shock and his pleasure, she’d accepted.
When Teddy went off to university, initially to study culinary arts, his relationship with Toire continued on for almost two whole years, and it seemed like life was on a good track for him. He was happy, studying something he loved, dating a girl he knew he was in love with, relationships with his Gran and his extended family through the Potters had reached an all-time high. Everything, it seemed, was perfect. Until, of course, he broke up with Victoire upon realizing that, perhaps, she wasn’t half as invested in a relationship as he was, and also realized that she just didn’t want him. It was a pretty nasty affair, at least on Teddy’s end, and when he broke it off, to say that he was miserable would be a fair understatement.
It was shortly after that, and after a long conversation with his Uncle Harry, that Teddy suddenly and seemingly randomly changed his major. To Auror Studies. It tacked on an extra year to his education, so he graduated from the university when he was 23, but with a degree in Auror Studies with a minor in culinary arts (no use to throw away the classes he’d already spent on it, yeah?). Shortly after that he enrolled in Auror training, and came out to be an Auror no less than a year later, starting his career at the prime age of twenty-four (much to his grandmother’s dismay, I might add, who didn’t want him joining the force at all given what became of his mother). He’s been working on the force for three years, and things only got more complicated when Toire joined on.
These days, one can probably find him skulking around the office, trying to avoid interaction with Victoire, and stewing about the release of the Death Eaters. The second any of them step out of line, it isn’t hard to see how eager Teddy is to pounce and wreak vengeance upon those guilty for the murder of his parents. More and more often, his darker parts are starting to shine through, and complicated feelings towards Victoire really aren’t helping matters at this point.
