ONE WORLD DRIVEN INTO MADNESS , madness driven by the depths below Potter, Albus S. TWENTY MALE BISEXUAL AL JUNIOR GRYFFINDOR HALF-BLOOD UNSURE STUDENT - LAW MAJOR AND HISTORY OF MAGIC MINOR 11 INCHES, SUPPLE, WILLOW WITH DRAGON HEARTSTRING CORE ONE LIE TELLS A THOUSAND STORIES , the greatest stories that were ever told APPEARANCE 5'11" 180 LBS FAIR DARK BROWN FAIRLY SHORT GREEN LEAN FORMAL CASUAL like his father, albus has dark brown, nearly black, hair. when long, it is thick with unruly curls that are a nightmare to deal with. because of this, albus tends to keep his hair fairly short, at a length where it is easily tamable. he likes styling his hair, often slicking it back into a very business-like hairstyle or a modern quiff. he was the only child of harry's to inherit his grandmother's bright green eyes, eyes which always have a look of seriousness to them. standing at five foot eleven, albus is well over average height. he easily towers over his parents and most of his family. he has a lean, somewhat athletic build. it has always been difficult for al to put on and lose weight, leaving him with soft muscles and little extra body fat. generally, albus enjoys looking good. he probably spends more time getting ready than the average male; his looks are actually quite important to him. he likes to dress up for the smallest occasion, though he won't generally walk around in a suit in fear of looking like a total schmuck. on a daily basis, he wears button-up shirts and slacks, and will occasionally wear a sweater with nice jeans when he feels like dressing more comfortably. ONE MAN CAN PREDICT THE FUTURE , a future journey into outer space PERSONALITY |
albus doesn't necessarily have specific goals. he knows he wants to be successful and make his family proud, but isn't exactly sure how to go about it. earning a spot in the ministry of magic would be phenomenal, working as assistant minster (he isn't confident enough yet to strive for the minister) or even in the department of magical law enforcement would be even better. he wants to succeed in his studies with flying colors, to graduate at the top of his class. success is really his only goal. he doesn't care about much else at this point. as for fears, more than anything, he fears losing his family and somehow failing them. he is afraid of disappointing his father most of all. on a less significant note, he really, really dislikes centipedes and anything that has way more legs than it should.

when albus was a young child, everyone expected him to grow up and be just like his father. his father saw so much of himself in the young boy, but that seems to have changed with age. people change over time, and the difference between youth and adulthood is one of the greatest. it was foolish for anyone to expect albus to be the archetype of his father. albus lacks compassion for the most part. he loves his family and friends, of course, but he finds it difficult to actually relate to or feel sympathy for anyone. he is apathetic, uninterested, unconcerned with most things in daily life. people could argue he is both selfish and selfless. he doesn't really care for much things in particular, but he tends to do things for others before himself. in daily life, he is distant and cold, unable to make deeper connections. he's terrible with relationships; he can't flirt and gets terribly embarrassed if he tries to. it's even more embarrassing when others flirt with him, because he has no idea what to do in the situation. to get close to albus on a romantic level, one must be patient and devoted - it will take a while for him to really open up. most of the time, albus sees no need for relationships; he's generally focused on work and study. relationships, at the moment, seem trivial. albus can be terribly insecure. he often wonders what people think of him and his actions. this is something he strives to get over, so he can one day be more confident, but it's proven to be quite difficult. he's pessimistic and tends to talk himself down.
albus generally tends to be family-oriented. he loves his family dearly and often puts them before any other person or thing. his family has always been there for him; he can count on them for nearly anything. he is also very accepting of people and rarely judges anyone before he gets a feel for who they are. in life, he is very devoted to the things he enjoys. family and his studies being the most prominent, though he isn't quite sure which he is more devoted to. which leads into the next thing - determination. albus is determined to get over his insecurities and make his family proud. he also strives to do nothing less than excellent in his studies, in hopes he will one day be able to land a job in the ministry. normally, albus is very humble; he doesn't brag about things or make himself seem better than he is. of course, this may also be due to his insecurities, but it's always nice to see humbleness as a positive thing.

HISTORY
born the second of three children to harry and ginny potter, albus has lived both a normal and interesting live. growing up with his older brother james and younger sister lily, he always had someone around. his numerous cousins were great entertainment as well. he was rarely bored; it was a lovely childhood, and albus couldn't have asked for something better. he showed signs of magic as early as the age of two. thankfully he never caused any major destruction, just a few broken teacups and plates from an incident he doesn't even remember. his mother still likes to tease him about it, though. though he loves his mother, albus has always been closed to his father. as a child, he loved to as him about his work. this fascination with his father's career probably led albus in the direction he is now headed. albus knew, even as early as then, he wanted to do something similar to what harry did, though he never knew the specifics - and he's still figuring it out.
following his brother to hogwarts, albus brought along a new friend. he'd been against the traditional pets that students normally brought to hogwarts, instead begging his father for a ferret. he named the small creature zeus, and the ferret became his best friend, especially on days when he felt he had none. making friends has always proved slightly difficult for albus; he is not and never has been too sociable. on those days when he felt his worst, he would retreat to his bed and talk quietly with his ferret. though it was childish, it helped. albus would quickly recover, pet his little friend lovingly, and face the day. thankfully, albus also had many cousins at hogwarts, along with his two siblings. that certainly helped when days got rough.
in his fourth year, albus began to experiment with dating. he hadn't really had an interest in it until then, and even in fourth year, he was still quite young. there was no rush for anything, but he constantly saw "love" around him. he wanted to see what all the fuss was about. he found himself attracted to a girl in his house and year. she was smart and funny and just lovely in general. albus tried getting to know her, but as previously mentioned, his social skills were lacking. however, she must have seen something in him, because she laughed and agreed to go out with him when he finally asked. she'd dated before and was very much the leader in the relationship, pretty much teaching albus how. he was like a puppy, following its master and living to please. though they dated for several months, several months that albus quite enjoyed, the girl broke up with albus not long before the school year ended. she claimed she could not stand him anymore; she thought he was boring and uninteresting. that surprised albus, because he'd thought the relationship had been going well. he was rather upset for a couple days. early sixth year, albus dated a girl for a short time. this time, he was the one who'd decided it was time to break up. she was entirely too clingy and had no perception of personal space. he couldn't stand it.
midway through sixth year, albus met a boy. he was unbelievably attractive, a hufflepuff, and in his herbology class. the boy was perhaps the only thing that made the class enjoyable. the two quickly became friends, despite albus's awkward tendencies. it wasn't for several weeks that they started to talk outside of class. it wasn't until then that albus realized he had a strong attraction toward this boy; something he'd never felt before. albus was curious but somewhat horrified at the feeling; he wasn't sure how he felt knowing he liked boys along girls. what troubled him most, however, was how he'd tell his family. it wasn't something he wanted to keep secret; he didn't want his family to see him with a boy or hear from some rumor that their son (or brother, to his siblings) was gay. he wasn't, you see, he just liked both genders.
the boy he spent so much time with easily caught on to albus's feelings toward him. he liked to tease albus about them, even though it was quite obvious he felt the same. they didn't become "official" for quite a while. it wasn't until albus invited him home during a break and introduced him to his family as his boyfriend that they became official and the "secret" of albus's sexuality was out. his family was quite surprised, but appeared to have accepted it for the most part. he spent nearly the rest of his years at hogwarts (not the university, obviously) with the boy, and enjoyed it more than anything. however, it all came to an abrupt end near the end of his seventh year. albus had gone outside for a walk and saw his boyfriend snogging some kid against a tree. it was the ultimate betrayal. albus coughed loudly, announcing his presence, and laughed bitterly at his boyfriend's shocked and guilty expression. leaving no room for stuttered apologies, he calmly walked away and refused to see him for several weeks after that. their relationship was over. later, when albus would ask why he had done it, his boyfriend simply replied "i wanted more". albus also learned his boyfriend had done this several times during their relationship. after that, he loathed the boy. he couldn't even look at him, and to this day, refuses to talk about or to him.
despite that romantic fiasco, albus's life in the hogwarts wizarding school was perfectly fine. he went through school receiving excellent grades and rarely had trouble. when he did, it wasn't hard to pick it up with extra help or studying. he went on to university, choosing to major in law and minor in the history of magic. the combination made sense to him, together it seemed that it would work quite well.
shortly after beginning his sophomore year at university, his beloved ferret zeus died. the death struck him quite hard; the ferret had been with him for nearly ten years. he mourned the ferret's death as you would a family member, but seemed to get over it quickly. zeus was, after all, just a pet, he would say glumly. sensing his discontent without his ferret, his mother decided to gift him with a cat as a going-away present for his third year of university. the adorable kitten had white fur with striking blue eyes. he named her callie, short for callisto. and that's more or less it; the end of his history as it stands to this day.
