First! Ha!

Muhahahahha, I got the first post in the introductions board! Do I get a prize? Cookies would be awesome. ^_^

Anyways, hi! I'm Nic and I figured I would go ahead and introduce myself. Let's see, I first read Harry Potter when I was in the fifth grade (wow, I just realized that was more than a decade ago) and I started doing HP roleplaying forums in 2008. I am just getting back into roleplaying after a rather long absence, so if I'm out of date on any of the conventions, feel free to laugh and correct me. I'm very easy going and I love to collaborate, so don't be afraid to approach me about anything.

I am 24 years old and live in the frozen metropolis of Anchorage, Alaska. Currently, I work as a "infant and toddler primary caregiver" which is a fancy way of saying I chase around a small pack of one-year olds. In the spring I'm going back to school to finish my Bachelors in Journalism which I am super-excited about. I enjoy Dr. Who, playing pathfinder (I will never be on Sunday nights), and rock climbing. My favorite color is green. 

Besides that, well, I'm an open book. Seriously, ask me anything. Please.

I have a confession - I've never read the books. I got bored after the first one. *gasp*
Do you get the darkness for part of the year thing where you live?

I enjoy Doctor Who as well! I'm only on the first season (still, after some months). I absolutely love the 9th doctor. I've seen bits of the others and I can guarantee this doctor will remain my favorite. The companion, however...pretty sure I'm already in love with Karen Gillan's character. Anyways. My favorite color is green as well. Or is it teal? It might be teal. I don't know, it changes. WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THE COLOR GREEN? you don't have to answer that, I'm just trying to be friendly and ask questions that don't matter

Yes, we do get the darkness thing here. Right now the sun is coming up around 9:30 and going down around 4. In the middle of winter, I've gone days without seeing the sun (lecture halls, no windows, death). Vitamin D supplements are essential because we literally don't have enough sun in the winter to get enough. Or drinking lots of milk. Luckily we get the opposite in the summertime though. From Mid-June to about August the sun never really goes down and we stay out constantly. I've got some cool pictures from this summer on my Tumblr page. We had 80F days all summer this year. It was amazing. Of course, then it gets to be November and we get ice storms. 

Which is why green is my favorite color. Because I only get to see it 2-3 months out of the entire year.
