scorpius is ambitious, so to sum up all of his goals would be a monumental task. his top priority for the short-term is to graduate with a law degree, and possibly double major with history of magic. his long-term goal is to not only join the ministry of magic, build experience both in departmental service and in the wizengamot, but ultimately become the minister of magic. scorpius would like to have a family one day.
his pride will keep him from admitting any fears, but he is, after all, only human. scorpius fears failure most of all - failure to his family but more importantly failing himself. he strives to succeed in everything he attempts.

preferring simplicity and old values, scorpius is traditional in nearly every sense of the word. looking back at the wizard's council, the first wizarding government of britain, scorpius admires their equal and ethical judicial system. regardless of his own personal judgments, scorpius firmly believes in not only second chances, but also a fair trial. he detests the daily prophet and its twisted sense of "news". more so, he resents the ministry's use of it for their own political image purposes. outside of government traditions, scorpius leans towards traditional family values, such as eating meals together, weekly family nights, and even having an educated wife who is willing to raise the children and care for the home. he does, however, enjoy cooking and does not find it demeaning to do so. do not ask him to bake you a treat, for he will refuse.

unfortunately, scorpius is rather judgmental. capable of separating professionalism from personal opinion, he formulates a judgment on a person within the first few seconds of knowing them and it is difficult to waiver that perception. even further, blood status does play a role in his initial sense of the person and is often always in the back of his mind, no matter the developed relationship. while he does not hate muggleborns, or those with muggle blood, he cannot help but lack respect for them and question their place in wizarding society. he does find it difficult to work with halfbloods and muggleborns, finding them to also be inferior intellectually. in addition, his absence of trust leads him to be more prone, outside of professional settings, to side with a pureblood. hypocritically, his own dislike of ignorance contradicts his own disregard for non-purebloods.
confident and comfortable with himself, being raised in such a disciplined household, and yearning to be successful has forced scorpius into a more mature lifestyle. he prefers to associate with a community who may benefit his career goals, developing a future professional network. however, scorpius enjoys a good time like anyone else. in the proper company, scorpius smiles, makes sarcastic jokes, laughs at his dark sense of humor with a shot of good whiskey, and is even willing to break a few rules. he is not above moments of immaturity, and is especially tolerant when those close to him choose to conduct themselves in that manner and is becoming increasingly receptive to such behavior. in the end, however, responsibility tries to take priority.

HISTORY
scorpius hyperion malfoy was born january twenty sixth to draco malfoy and astoria greengrass. he was a rather large and chubby baby with peach fuzz covering his pale head and tears swelling his blue eyes. he was raised in the malfoy manor in wiltshire, england. the home's entirety was his playground, where he was allowed access to just about every single room (except his father's office) on his own free will. being an only child, scorpius received a significant amount of attention from both his parents and his grandparents. draco and astoria, however, were adamant about not spoiling him and scorpius learned self-control, responsibility, and discipline early on. starting at the ripe age of two years old, astoria began homeschooling him about the world of magic. history of magic immediately peaked his interests. it wasn't until about the age of five that scorpius discovered the ministry of magic and he became enthralled with politics, often prompting discussion between him and his father. scorpius lived rather sheltered, unfortunately. he was often not permitted to leave the manor to explore muggle england, and developed as a result an ignorance against them.
despite his distaste for the heat, scorpius always loved the malfoy's international summer vacations. when he was eight years old, upon his own suggestion, they visited kenya in africa. scorpius was not only fascinated by the culture of the people, but he was also intensely interested in the wildlife. the three were on a tour in a private safari which featured both magical and non-magical animals. in the distance, a baby elephant had been separating from her parents, who had begun to return to her. however, a pack of lions closed in on the baby elephant and attacked. scorpius, who was both fearful and angry, shouted for the lions to leave. suddenly, a burst of energy threw the lions off of the baby elephant who ran back to her parents, and the herd. scorpius' accidental, and first, use of magic marked a milestone in his life. magic becoming such an important factor of his life, scorpius eventually had the baby elephant tattooed onto his right wrist.
at eleven years old, scorpius received his invitation to attend hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardy. he was immediately sorted into slytherin house, where he would spend his next seven years. his time at hogwarts school were some of the best in his life, and some of the worst. beginning his school year strong, by focusing on his classwork, he was known for his academic proficiency for the first three years of school. his fourth year, however, was focused on alcohol, drug, and sexual experimentation. that summer, while he wallowed in disappointment at home, scorpius became more determined to succeed and make his father proud. his fifth, sixth, and seventh years were filled with achievements. he joined the slytherin quidditch team as seeker, became prefect during his sixth and seventh years, and joined numerous school clubs and organizations. surviving failed friendships and broken hearts, scorpius graduated with nearly all "outstandings" on his n.e.w.t. exams, with the exception of Herbology which received an "acceptable". shortly after graduating from hogwarts school, scorpius was enrolled in hogwarts university.
choosing two subjects of study was no challenge for scorpius, however deciding which to major and minor in proved more difficult. after his first semester, he settled on a law major with a minor in history of magic but he will likely try to double major upon reaching his senior year. scorpius spent his freshman and sophomore years as a seeker for the slytherin quidditch team, in addition to focusing on his studies while attempting (and often unsuccessfully) to balance in a social life. every university action is based upon how it will influence his career pursuits. despite his intuition for isolation, scorpius enjoys the company of his roommate and close friends and has spent the past summer building more solid relationships. going into his junior year, scorpius is going to try even harder to build his resume and experience. at the university, scorpius has a large male black, white, and grey great horned owl named emeric, after emeric the evil. emeric nips at strangers, and tends to enjoy solitude.
scorpius' grandfather, lucius malfoy, played a significant role in his upbringing. while typically never discussing the dark lord voldemort or his involvement with the death eaters, subtle hints for pureblood supremacy were relatively prominent, shaping one of scorpius' current ideals. his grandfather would frequently disappear, however, and when asked where he went, draco would respond, "he is facing his past". his grandmother, narcissa, kept herself busy by running the malfoy apothecary and upholding appearances at pureblood-family gatherings. daphne greengrass and theodore nott, scorpius' aunt and uncle respectively, visited for family get-togethers, vacations, and holidays with their two sons and two daughters. being raised in the malfoy family was often difficult for scorpius, who was accused and ridiculed for his grandfather, father, and even bellatrix lestrange's involvement with the battle of hogwarts and dark magic. despite distancing himself from his ancestral traditions, scorpius does feel a curious draw towards the dark arts.
